About SF Custom Chiropractic

To help people move better, feel better, and continue doing what matters to them.

Our Story

Our Story

"To help people move better, feel better, and continue doing what matters to them."

SF Custom Chiropractic was founded in 2011 by Dr. Adam Jacobs with a simple mission: to help people move better, feel better, and continue doing what matters to them.

What started as a single practice has grown into San Francisco's most recognized chiropractic wellness center, with three locations across the city — Mission Bay, Russian Hill & Fisherman's Wharf, and The Castro.

Our team of licensed chiropractors, acupuncturists, and massage therapists brings a comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal health. From spinal adjustments and Active Release Technique to acupuncture, deep tissue massage, and functional movement screening, we treat the root cause of pain — not just the symptoms.

We have treated professional athletes in MLB, NFL, NBA, and the PGA, served as on-site chiropractors for Outside Lands Music Festival, AVP San Francisco, and the US Open Golf Championship, and been named "Best Chiropractor" by ABC 7, 7x7 Magazine, and SF Weekly from 2015 through 2022.

Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, optimizing athletic performance, or simply seeking better daily movement, our team is here to build a care plan around your specific needs and goals.

Dr. Adam Jacobs founded SF Custom Chiropractic in 2011 after discovering the transformative power of chiropractic care firsthand. That experience ignited a passion that would define his career.

After earning his BS in Biology from UC Santa Cruz, Dr. Jacobs pursued his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose. During his training, he completed an internship treating Olympic athletes in Park City, Utah, where he developed his specialty in high-performance sports chiropractic care.

Since founding SFCC, Dr. Jacobs has expanded the practice to three San Francisco locations, building a reputation as one of the city’s most sought-after chiropractors. He was named among the Top 5 Bay Area chiropractors on the ABC 7 A-List from 2012 to 2014, and earned Best Chiropractor honors from ABC 7, 7x7 Magazine, and SF Weekly consecutively from 2015 through 2022.

Dr. Jacobs has treated professional athletes across Major League Baseball, the NFL, NBA, and PGA Tour. His event credentials include serving as on-site chiropractor at Outside Lands Music Festival, the AVP San Francisco Open, and the US Open Golf Championship. He holds certifications as a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Medical Practitioner, Functional Movement Screen Practitioner, and Full Body Active Release Techniques provider.

After earning her BS in Nutrition and Biochemistry from Cornell University and her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Katherine built a successful career in the corporate world before a life-changing event redirected her focus.

A serious ski accident resulting in multiple injuries and a traumatic brain injury became the catalyst for her transition into traditional Chinese medicine. That experience compelled her to pursue her MS in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of East-West Medicine.

Katherine studied under Dr. LieZhen Wang of Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Brian Dempsey, deepening her expertise in classical Chinese medicine techniques and their application to modern health challenges. Her clinical specialties include pain management, post-orthopedic surgery recovery, traumatic brain injury and concussion treatment, headaches and migraines, women’s health including IVF preparation, and chronic disease management.
